Easy Riddles in Creeks You turn your eyes to her mouth. You see the birds flying south. You take a step towards her voice Because she leaves you no choice. You walk a labyrinth through the mountains. You leave your name scratched on the peaks. You leave the hardest hearts in rivers. You leave the easy riddles in creeks. She throws a stone out to sea. You carve her name on a tree. She turns to give you a smile. You take her hand for a while. You walk a labyrinth through the mountains. You leave your name scratched on the peaks. You leave the hardest hearts in rivers. You leave the easy riddles in creeks. She runs her hands through your hair. She buries all your despair. She shuts her eyes as you sing Because you mean everything. You walk a labyrinth through the mountains. You leave your name scratched on the peaks. You leave the hardest hearts in rivers. You leave the easy riddles in creeks.

Every Rabbit is Crushed This bottle of scotch won’t last long in my trembling hand. I knew they’d be trouble as soon as I bought the land. So much of my life has been spent dreaming of this day. When every last one of them dead in the garden lay. Friends and lovers have died. All the birds have been hushed. All my tears have been cried. Every rabbit is crushed. So many bleak memories filling my weary mind. The time I got kicked in the eye and went nearly blind. The day thirteen dozen surrounded the garden shed. The subsequent damage to my nerves was permanent. Friends and lovers have died. All the birds have been hushed. All my tears have been cried. Every rabbit is crushed. I honestly thought I’d expire before the pests. But luck and a keen sense of purpose have served me best. Seems now that they’ve gone I have little worth fighting for. I’ll have to abandon this place to forget the war. Friends and lovers have died All the birds have been hushed All my tears have been cried Every rabbit is crushed. Every rabbit is crushed. Every rabbit is crushed.

Every Rocket I Crash Back when I was 8 years old I saw you in the field behind those Trees your hair as black as coal. I dreamt that night of all the wholesome Beauty in the world arose the next day in the field I found They'd took you to the moon. I looked up at the sky and there it was That yellow crescent lip. I swore that moment I would give my life to build a rocketship in which to fly from here to there with that I shouted at you longing, "Love I'll see you soon." We'll be together someday. With every rocket I crash, I'll better do what I do. A little luck and some cash and I'll be coming for you. With every rocket I break, A bit more cardboard and glue, I learn from every mistake, I'll soon be coming for you. I'll soon be coming for you. In highschool I kept mainly to myself, my teachers stupefied As I was always lost and idling every minute of the dial thinking of the moment when I'd see you for the first time in a half a dozen years. When I would get home from school I'd head straight to the spare bedroom the project was progressing smoothly, parts they sent from Syracuse had just arrived and pretty soon I solved the last equation thereby shattering my fears. We'll be together someday. with every rocket I crash, I'll better do what I do. A little luck and some cash and I'll be coming for you. With every rocket I break, And the schematics redo. I learn from every mistake. I'll soon be coming for you. I'll soon be coming for you. By myself I've lived for over 40 years. I've studied aeroengineering at the local college and by day I fix old planes, but in the evening I no longer sleep I set ablaze a dozen little farms. Most recently the prototype stayed on it's course and made some gains. I'm confident impending changes will result in finally making all my dreams come true by saving you. We'll both be saved when I can hold you in my arms. We'll be together someday. with every rocket I crash, I'll better do what I do. A little luck and some cash and I'll be coming for you. With every rocket I break, Replace this circuit that screw. I learn from every mistake, I'll soon be coming for you. I'll be coming for you. I'll be coming for you. I am coming for you. I am coming for you.

about

This album is dedicated to Adrian. Adrian who wrote these songs for me as gifts. Most before Something About The Hills was even an idea. By gifting me these songs, Adrian gave me an opportunity to focus on a playful pursuit of arranging and recording these songs. There were so many pleasant surprises while making this album. It helped me focus during difficult times. I learned a lot from this project and owe so much gratitude to Adrian for these amazing gifts. Adrian, thanks for believing in me for all these years. Thanks for your patience. Here is my gift to you.

I’m also really thankful for the support I receive from Patrick (patrickmarchavican.bandcamp.com) and Ripple O)) (ripple-ooo.bandcamp.com). These two help make sure I’m releasing the best work that I’m capable of and I really appreciate their support and advice. I’m also thankful to be supported by a strong, kind and loving wife. She has always supported my music in the most genuine ways. Special thanks to Robert Bailey for providing emergency guitar tech support and loaning me the bass ukulele heard on Eric’s Waltz and the Fender Jazz bass on the other three songs.
